The STAHLWERK MTM-200 ST is a powerful 3-in-1 inverter with 200 A and combines the TIG welding processes MIG/MAG welding and MMA/Stick welding in one device. The welding machine is also suitable for processing cored wire and for welding thin sheet metal, but not for welding aluminum.
Equipped with the latest generation of IGBT technology, the versatile inert gas welding machine impresses with its synergistic wire feed and numerous individually adjustable welding parameters. A powerful 4-roller drive ensures reliable and continuous wire feed even with thicker welding wires.
By changing the drive rollers, wires with a thickness of 0.6 | 0.8 | 1.0 | 1.2 mm can be processed. The spool mandrel is suitable for holding 16 mm and 50 mm spools, so wire rolls weighing 1 to 5 kg can be clamped.
The STAHLWERK MTM-200 ST combination welding machine has a high-frequency ignition (HF) with 2-stroke | 4-stroke mode.
Features
- The STAHLWERK MTM-200 ST is a powerful 3-in-1 inverter with 200 A and combines the TIG | welding processes MIG MAG | MMA in one device. The welding machine is also suitable for processing cored wire and for welding thin sheet metal, but not for welding aluminum.
- DC TIG welding – direct current (DC). Welding of almost all metals, such as steel, stainless steel, copper, brass and much more. Note: Not suitable for aluminum – an AC/DC device is required for this.
- STAHLWERK MTM-200 ST 2T/4T (TIG/MIG/MAG) – determines operating mode control and provides advanced control over current flow. In 2T mode, the high-frequency ignition (HF) remains active until the button on the torch is released. In 4T mode, the arc is ignited after pressing and releasing the button once. After pressing and releasing again, the ignition is stopped.
- Gas follow-up (TIG) – protects the tungsten electrode from wear and protects the weld seam from oxidation. The parameters can be set individually. The gas run-on indicates how long the protective gas should flow after ignition.
- Lightweight & compact design and innovative IGBT transistors of the latest generation save space and weight compared to the old MOSFET technology. No more heavy carrying!

Features
HF ignition (TIG) – enables contactless ignition and ensures significantly better welding results. No LIFT ARC, no strike ignition!
Highest efficiency & performance – Single-phase alternating current (230V) supplies the device and allows an output power of real 200 amps for TIG | MIG MAG | MMA.
Smart cooling & overheating protection – State-of-the-art technology, integrated overheating protection and high-performance cooling enable maximum performance to be achieved.
TIG (tungsten inert gas) – inert gas welding with inert | inactive gases such as Argon 4.6 (99.996%). An arc is created in an argon bell between the tungsten electrode and the workpiece. This melts the material and any additional material that may be added. A weld seam is created.
MMA electrode welding | ARC welding – a universal welding process. An electric arc melts the electrode, forming the weld seam.
Hotstart – Automatic voltage increase at start for better ignition results.
Anti-Stick – Automatically shuts down the welding current if the electrode sticks allows for easy removal.
MIG MAG – metal arc welding with direct current (DC). It can be used with inactive | inert (MIG, e.g. argon) or with active (MAG, e.g. CO2) gases. Gas and welding wire come out of the torch head and allow welding work to be carried out with just one hand.
Cored wire – all of our ST series devices can use flux cored wire. This makes welding possible without inert gas. To do this, the welding machine can simply be reversed.
Automatic wire feed – the speed of the wire feed is automatically controlled by the set welding current and by selecting the wire thickness used on the device.
Voltage (Volts) – Variable voltage control to manually adjust wire penetration and burn-off. This means that the various properties of a wide variety of materials can be influenced.

Manual wire feed – no more loss of gas or the hassle of pushing the wire through. If a new roll of wire is to be fed through the hose package, this happens completely automatically using the wire push-through button.
