Stahlwerk MTM200 ST 3-in-1 gas-shielded welding machine | 200 A combi-inverter for TIG, MIG/MAG, MMA, FLUX, CuSi3 soldering | HF ignition | synergic wire feed | VRD and hot start | 2-cycle / 4-cycle mode P/N 6908
STAHLWERK MTM200 ST combination welding machine is a powerful 3-in-1 inverter with an output power of 200 A. It combines the TIG (DC), MIG/MAG and MMA welding processes in one compact device. It is also suitable for welding with cored wire (FLUX) and for precise work on thin sheet metal.
However, it is not possible to weld aluminium with this welding machine. In MIG/MAG and FLUX mode, the automatic wire feed with selectable wire diameters (0.6/0.8/1.0 mm and 0.9 mm for cored wire) enables convenient welding.
The spool mandrel on the STAHLWERK MTM200 ST is suitable for holding spools with a diameter of 16 mm or 50 mm, so that wire spools from 1 to 5 kg can be clamped.
A powerful 4-roller drive ensures reliable and continuous wire feed, even with thicker welding wires. Infinitely variable voltage correction and adjustable arc width correction provide additional control over penetration, seam shape and wire burn-off speed.
In TIG mode, the MTM200 ST works with direct current (DC) and high-frequency ignition (HF). The 2T/4T mode as well as adjustable parameters for current increase, current reduction, gas advance and gas delay enable very controlled ignition and finishing of the seam. 20-180 A are available for MMA operation, supplemented by hot start for easier ignition and anti-stick to prevent the electrode from sticking.
The modern IGBT inverter technology on the STAHLWERK MTM200 ST ensures high performance with a compact design and low weight. Overheating protection, powerful smart cooling, ST-Guard housing and the VRD function (voltage-reduced idling in MMA mode) increase safety and reliability, even during intensive workshop use. This makes the Stahlwerk MTM 200 ST a versatile all-rounder for professional applications in the trade and for demanding DIY enthusiasts.
Functions Of the Stahlwerk MTM200 ST Multi Process Welder
- The STAHLWERK MTM200 ST combination welder is a powerful 3-in-1 inverter with 200 A and combines the TIG | MIG MAG | MMA welding processes in one device. The welding machine is also suitable for processing cored wire and for welding thin sheet metal, but not for welding aluminum.
- MIG / MAG welding (DC) – Gas metal arc welding with inert (MIG, e.g. argon) or active gases (MAG, e.g. COâ‚‚ or mixed gas), ideal for steel and stainless steel.
- Voltage control – With the variable voltage control, the penetration and burn-off of the wire can be adjusted manually. The higher the voltage, the faster the wire burns off. Depending on the material and material thickness, a lower or higher setting can be selected. This allows the automatic wire feed to be adjusted slightly by speeding up or slowing down the burn-off.
- Flux-cored wire welding (FLUX) – AG welding without shielding gas with special flux-cored wires – ideal for outdoors or in draughty conditions. Flux-cored wire – all our ST series devices can use flux-cored wire. This enables welding without shielding gas. The polarity of the welding machine can simply be reversed for this purpose.
- DC TIG welding with HF ignition: DC TIG for precise, low-spatter seams on steel and stainless steel, high-frequency ignition for convenient arc starting.
- 2T/4T (TIG/MIG/MAG) – determines the control of the operating mode and offers extended control over the current flow. In 2T mode, high-frequency ignition (HF) remains active until the button on the torch is released. In 4T mode, the arc is ignited after pressing and releasing the button once. After pressing and releasing the button again, ignition is terminated.
- MMA/E-hand welding with anti-stick – Universal electrode welding with 20-180 A: Can be used in many environmental conditions – ideal for construction sites, assembly and repair. Thanks to the anti-stick function, the welding current is automatically reduced if the electrode sticks. The electrode can thus be easily removed.
- Wire diameter and gas selection – wire diameters (0.6 / 0.8 / 1.0 mm, 0.9 mm for FLUX) and suitable shielding gases can be selected directly via the control panel.
- 4 roller drive – reliable and powerful wire feed. Thanks to 4 drive rollers, even thicker wires are fed continuously and safely.
Features & advantages Of the Stahlwerk MTM200 ST Welder
- IGBT technology: Modern inverter technology with high efficiency, stable arc and compact design.
- Hotstart function (MMA): Automatic voltage increase when igniting the electrode for better ignition results and a quickly heated seam start.
- Smart cooling & overheating protection – State-of-the-art technology, integrated overheating protection and high-performance cooling enable maximum power to be called up. A powerful fan ensures that the maximum duty cycle is utilized thanks to excellent cooling.
- ST-Guard housing: Ergonomic, robust and reliable housing with easily accessible, intuitive front panel.
- Infinitely adjustable welding current: Adjustment of the welding current to the material type and thickness for optimum seam quality.
- VRD (Voltage Reduction Device). Manual switching on/off of the VRD function enables the output voltage of the welding machine to be reduced to a safe level to protect the operator when touching the electrode while welding is not in progress.
- Automatic wire feed speed. (Automatic wire feed) – The welding wire is automatically untwisted from the spool and pushed by the wire feed unit through a hose package several meters long to the contact tip in the torch. The speed is self-regulating, depending on the welding current.
- Test and inspection modes: Two test and inspection buttons can be used to check both the wire feed and the gas supply. By pressing the wire feed test button, the wire feed can be checked manually without starting a welding process. This activates the wire motor so that welding wire emerges from the torch tip, but without current and gas flow. This function is used to check the feed and to thread the wire into the torch, for example after a wire change. The gas check button is used to manually switch on the gas flow without starting a welding process: A solenoid valve opens and shielding gas flows out of the gas nozzle. This function is used to check the gas supply, to check for leaks and to set the gas volume on the flow meter. Stahlwerk MTM200 ST part number 6908
