Miller Welding Helmet Digital Elite Gear Box
The new Miller Welding Helmet Digital Elite Gear Box design is an Auto-Darkening Welding Helmet manufactured by Miller Welding.
This Auto-Darkening Helmet uses ClearLight Lens Technology Click Here. This Miller exclusive technology optimizes contrast & clarity in various welding applications/lights.
It has a 1/1/1/2 optical clarity rating, allowing for a lighter shade when the user is not welding. This means the welder can keep their helmet down at all times ensuring safety & productivity during the welding job.
This feature Four Arc Sensors and Four different modes:
- Welding
- Cutting
- Grinding
- X-Mode (this mode monitors the weld using electromagnetic technology and removes any sunlight interference while continuing to detect the weld arc. To understand more about X-Mode please click here.
The Miller Welding Helmet Digital Elite Gear Box Helmet uses generation 3.5 headgear. It has a comfy cushion and also uses an ergonomic design, providing the welder comfort while welding and a range of settings that they can adjust.
The welder can adjust shade, delay & sensitivity using the Digital Controls on the Miller Welding Helmet.
This is a Miller Auto-Darkening Welding Helmet, meaning the helmet will automatically turn on or off at the strike of an arc.

What are the advantages of an automatic welding helmet?
- The quality of your welding output will be improved because there is no need to change the positioning of the torch.
- You will be less likely to have bad starts when you start the weld because the need to continually nodding your head forward to drop the welding shield is minimized.
- Reduced neck strain.
- When working in tighter spots will be easier as you don’t need to raise this helmet.
- Reduced risk of arc flashes because of the fast switching time of the lens.

Why is the proper helmet so important?
Eye injuries are one of the most common injuries in welding environments, and there is an increased push in the industry to help prevent them.
Musculoskeletal injuries in the neck and back muscles can also become an issue long term, especially if a welding operator wears a poorly-designed helmet (some respiratory helmets can weigh up to 3 pounds) or if he or she has poor welding posture.
A helmet that has a good viewing area and a lens with auto-darkening technology reduces eye strain when looking at the weld joint, and minimizes the need for “nodding” associated with putting traditional welding helmets in place by using a forward-neck motion.
In addition, improving the comfort factor also impacts productivity. A helmet that is lighter and cooler, can reduce neck strain and fatigue over the course of the work day.
Replacement Battery for this helmet is a CR2450. We keep them in stock – give us a call.
